“An Object of Beauty” by Steve Martin

Martin, Steve.  An Object of Beauty.  (F Mar)

“An Object of Beauty” is both a primer on the business of fine art collecting and a close study of the personalities that make it run.

Reader 1:

Well written, but Lacey is utterly unsympathetic.  Glad I’m not an NYC artist.

Reader 2:

Martin is a good writer.  Interesting subject matter and a solid story line.

Reader 3:

Unusual, original and interesting novel.  Martin’s acute actor’s observational skills sometimes cause him to overdescribe people and situations.  Illustrations really enhance the book.
