It’s no secret that librarians love books. We love to read (a ton), we love to share our favorites, and we love to put the right book in the hands of the right reader at the exact right time.
We’ve got a diverse staff of readers here at CPL. Take a look at our profiles below to find out what genres we enjoy, what our favorite books are, and a few of our top authors. Then be sure to stop by the circulation desk the next time you’re in the library for some book chat!
Sandra handles all of our music and movies here at the library–she orders and catalogs all of our DVD’s. You can also find her out at the circulation desk. She loves anything Sherlock Holmes, and loves the Mary Russell series by Laurie King–also currently hooked on the TV series “Elementary”! The author Thad Carhart is a new favorite. His The Piano Shop on the Left Bank has cozy descriptions of characters and offers a lot to learn about the history of pianos and their quality standards.
Marie is the library’s cataloger. She runs the Readers Corner blog and sharing books is one of her great passions. Marie loves twisty, complicated, intricate novels with flawed characters. Psychological Suspense, Thrillers, and Horror are her favorite genres (and she particularly enjoys novels where these are blended together!). When she needs a break from the dark side she enjoys food writing, lush and detailed historical fiction and family sagas, and screwball comedies. Favorite authors include Stephen King, Paul Tremblay, Tana French, Christopher Moore, Shirley Jackson, Laura Shapiro, Joshilyn Jackson, and Ottessa Moshfegh.
